Mitchell Holland, OL
|
Offensive Line, #68
5'10", 200 lbs.
Max Squat: 365, Max Bench: 225
Junior, Class of 2010
Although he traveled to varsity games to serve as an emergency reserve center, Mitch comes from the junior varsity level where he was the starting center in 2007.
Pound for pound, Mitch is easily one of the toughest linemen and overall athletes on the Patriot’s roster. He is reserved in demeanor but incredibly aggressive in toughness, discipline, and desire.
Since season’s end, Mitch has added 20 pounds in body weight and has significantly increased his overall strength, footwork, technique, and knowledge of the game. Through his hard work and dedicated effort Mitch continues to demonstrate that he is going to be a critical component to the Patriot’s upcoming 2008 season.
We all join in congratulating Mitch on being elected as on of the Legion's Founding Three Chiefs. This is a distinguished honor because it represents the respect and admiration of his peers.

Ryan Rodney, DL
|
Defensive Line, #72 5'11", 248 Max Squat: 405, Max Bench: 245 Junior, Class of 2010
A natural athlete with great speed, quickness, and explosive athleticism. Ryan is capable of playing either offensive or defensive line. As a sophomore in 2007, Ryan started the majority of the season at defensive tackle or nose guard. Strategically moved to right defensive end in the Section IV playoff, Ryan was an obvious standout and one of the main reasons why the Patriots were able to hold a quick-strike Horeseheads offense to 80 total offensive yards.
Ryan played through several injuries during the 2007 season including a separated shoulder, sprained ankle, and a broken wrist; further demonstrating that he is a tough, gritty athlete. Ryan will be a critical element to the success of the Patriot’s 2007 season. During this offseason, Ryan's combination of speed, proper technique and explosive power have grown exponentially - further giving him the ability to dominate his opponents.
If teams in Section IV have not already taken note of Ryan, they need to! Ryan will definitely be a standout athlete in Section IV and beyond.

Mohammed Hassanien, DE
|
Defensive End, #45
5'10", 170
Max Squat: 305, Max Bench: 175
Sophmore, Class of 2011
Although not a Fat Man in physical size, Mohammed, also known as "Mojo," has earned the respect and admiration of all the Legion and the coaching staff. His hard work and dedicated effort is unmatched. Initially, Mojo began working with the Legion as an "honorary member" only. However, through his hard work and gritty attitude, Mojo has proven that he is mentally and physically tough enough to play Defensive End for the Patriot Defensive Line.
Many fail to become members of the Legion because they're unwilling to commit to the physical and mental rigors of Legion training. However, Mojo started with the Legion when his body weight was only 155 lbs! Needless to say, gaining 20 pounds of muscle during the off season was no accident. Similarly, Mojo's overall strength has continued to increase as well as his speed and overall skill.
Initially projected to become a Patriot linebacker or defensive back, it wasn't long before coaches began to predict the very real posibilities of Mojo seeing action at defensive end. Because of his speed, eagerness and fearless attitude, Mojo began to prove that he could be a great fit at weak-side defensive end. But regardless of his exact position, as a sophomore, Mojo will surely contribute to the Patriots success in 2008.

Corey Reynolds, DL
|
Defensive Line, #95 5'7", 237 Max Squat: 335, Max Bench: 235 Junior, Class of 2010
Corey is an experienced offensive lineman as he served as a foundational lineman on the junior varsity level in 2007. However, coaches are very excited about the prospect of transitioning Corey to the defensive line in 2008. Because of his powerful and explosive get-off and his fast hands and feet coaches believe that Corey is going to be a major contributor to the Patriot’s defensive line.
Like other members of the Legion, since the end of the 2007 season Corey has worked very hard to increase his size, strength, and technique. He's rapidly growing into a great defensive prospect because he's continuing to learn, understand, and effectively implement great defensive line skills. Corey is fast off the ball, uses good leverage, and can make offensive linemen miss their punch.
Section IV will definitely need to keep their eye on Corey as he will definitely be a major contributor for the Patriots in the 2008 season. Coaches are very excited about the prospect of having Corey at defensive line for the next two seasons.
